Professor Louise Burrell
Chairperson
MBChB, MRCP, MD, FRACP, FAHA
Professor Burrell is a clinician-scientist, Professor of Medicine, Head of Cardiovascular Research Group, University of Melbourne and an active clinician with senior leadership roles at Austin Health. She is a renowned national leader and recognised international expert in vascular health with particular expertise in ACE2, a marker of endothelial dysfunction and the receptor for COVID-19. She is involved in several collaborative clinical research studies that involve patients with cardiovascular disease, lung disease, dementia and brain injury. Her work is funded through the Heart Foundation, the MRFF and the NHMRC.

Professor Robert Jones AM

MB, ChB, FRACS, FRCS(Ed)
Professor Jones AM is the Director Liver Transplant Unit, Austin Health and a Professor of Surgery. He is Director of the Victorian Adult and Paediatric Liver Transplant Unit and a Professorial Fellow of the University of Melbourne. The Transplant Unit is based at the Austin Hospital and the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, and has performed over 900 liver transplants. He has been a Board Member since 2007.

Ms Maureen Mangion

Maureen is a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Adviser with more than 30 years of tax consulting experience and is Australian Legal Practitioner. Maureen is also an accredited AICD Company Director. Maureen joined the Austin Medical Research Foundation in 2018 as Honorary Treasurer.

Mr Graeme Whitelaw

Graeme has 45 years’ experience in finance including expertise in corporate finance, investment banking and financial advice. He has been a member of the Rotary Club of Melbourne Investment Committee for 10 years. He joined the AMRF Board in 2018.

Professor Leon Bach
Director
MB BS, PhD, FRACP
Professor Leon Bach is a Professor in the Faculty of Medicine at Monash University and Deputy Director of the Department of Endocrinology and Diabetes at the Alfred. His research interests are in the role of glycated proteins in diabetic complications and regulation of the insulin-like growth factor system (including IGF-1) in diseases including cancer and diabetes. He has been a Board Member since 2018.

Ms Teresa Zolnierkiewicz

BA, Master of Management
Teresa has more than 30 years’ experience in financial services, private banking, trusteeship and carriage of fiduciary responsibilities. Currently, she is an independent consultant on strategy to philanthropists and those organisations seeking to engage with them, co-founder of filantropia - rethinking Philanthropy, and Chair of the Melbourne International Film Festival. She joined the AMRF Board in 2022.

Dr Alla Kolganova
Director
PhD, MSc, MAPP, GAICD, CFA
Dr Kolganova has more than 25 years of experience in global financial markets. Her previous appointments included FTSE Russell Policy Advisory Board and FTSE Russell and APREA committees. She has served as a board director and investment committee member of the Lord Mayor’s Charitable Foundation and currently serves on the investment committee of Thorne Harbour Health. She joined the Austin Medical Research Foundation in 2022.

Rosalinda has held the role of Company Secretary since December 2021. She has over 40 years’ experience in finance and corporate services, with more than 20 years holding CFO and Executive positions in not-for-profit / public sector organisations.
