Understanding the role of hypoxaemia in interstitial lung disease

20 December 2022

The Bernie Sweet Clinical Research Fellowship 2021 has been awarded to Dr Yet Hong Khor for her project “Cellular and sleep responses to hypoxic burden in interstitial lung disease”.

Interstitial lung diseases (ILDs) are complex lung scarring diseases with high morbidity and mortality, with an increasing incidence of 5% per year. It is the second most common cause of death due to chronic lung disease in Australia.

This project will provide vital insights into the biological effects of hypoxaemia in the disease process of patients with ILD.
